LOCATION AND SHORT HISTORY OF COXS BAZAR
Coxs Bazar is a fishing port town in Bangladesh with the world’s longest natural unbroken 125 km sandy sea beach with a gentle slope. This is the most attractive tourist spot of the country which is located between the river Bakkhali and the Bay of Bengal from 150 km south of Chittagong in the South-Eastern part of Bangladesh.
Coxs Bazar derives its name from Lieutenant Hiram Cox (died in 1798), an officer of British East India Company who was specially mobilized to deal with a century-long conflict between Arakan refugees and local Rakhains. He had rehabilitated refugees in this area. That time he made a market place - a Bazaar for the locals and they called it as Cox’s Bazar. It is one of the most visited tourist spots in Bangladesh which has yet to become a major international tourist destination, due to lack of international publicity.
WEATHER CONDITION OF COXS BAZAR
The climate of Coxs bazar is mostly hot and humid as the rest of the country. Winter is the best season here for tourists. The annual average temperature here remains at about a maximum of 34.8 °C and a minimum of 16.1 °C. The average amount of rainfall remains at 4,285 mm.
TRANSPORTATION FROM DHAKA
There are many Luxury Bus Services from Dhaka to Coxs Bazar via Chittagong. The condition of the road is fine. Nearly 7 hours trip from Dhaka by bus. The Rail Way Service is also available from Dhaka Kamlapur Rail Station to Chittagong. And then by bus or car to Coxs Bazar. However, by Air, it is a 30 minutes journey from the domestic terminal of Shahjalal International Airport at Dhaka.

A large number of hotels, motels, resorts, and restaurants are easily available here. Few of them are giving 5-star facilities. Cheap hotels and restaurants are also available here. The tourists can book their hotels online and by a phone call also.
